On-Location Anywhere
I began my recording career traveling to high school and college orchestra, band, and choral concerts as well as many years of adjudication festivals. During that time I recorded 100’s of regional high school and college ensembles in many different spaces. Everywhere from multi-million dollar halls designed and treated for optimal sound, to gymnasiums designed for sports, not an orchestra. In that process I have developed a deep understanding of how a space impacts the sound and how to get the very best sound out of any space. Recently I found myself recording a massive project with orchestra, choir, and soloists 200 feet underground in Mammoth Cave national park. Part of the challenge and thrill of my work is engaging with the space to capture a sound unique to that moment and location.
